What a beautiful day in Colorado Springs. The early springs here are gorgeous. We had a bit of snow last night, but it has mostly all melted away. In a few days the tulips and daffodils will be coming up in my front yard.

We had our annual congregational meeting at Trinity Covenant Church on Sunday with a fellowship dinner afterwards. It was a great time. Some young people are turning back to more traditional forms of worship, with a corresponding desire to search the Scriptures.

Old age can be a snare. Ec 7:10 "Say not thou, What is the cause that the former days were better than these? for thou dost not enquire wisely concerning this." Sentiment might cause you to long for the "good old days." But there were none. The good old days were different, but these are good days if we live them for the glory of God.

I didn't have 14 grandchildren in the good old days with another on the way. I didn't have six sons, three of which are gospel ministers. I didn't have a son teaching English to Japanese students. I didn't have a son in Tennesee advancing in the sound and light profession. I didn't have a son who is a night manager at the plating company in Denver.

I didn't love my wife as I do now, and I am sure that she didn't love me as she does now. How could anyone have loved me? Mothers have to, you know, although even that is open for question nowadays.

Ps 118:24 "This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it." We live in the eternal sabbath of the day of resurrection. Jesus has risen from the dead and we are at peace wtih God and, therefore, with His creation. Amen and Amen.

God is good, and I don't mean Allah, who is not good, being the evil imagination of corrupt men. But why be negative on such a beautiful day.
